PREREADING REFLECTION:
Do you have pets? If so, how many, what are they, what are their names? Describe them. If not, why not? Do you not want them? Are you allergic? If you could have a pet what would you want it to be?
Yes I have pets. I have five pets: three cats, a lizard, and a tadpole, and their names are Angel, Lilah, Gizmo, Emerald, and Spot. Angel is a brown domestic short-hair cat that is a girl(Parent's). Lilah is a white and gray domestic short-hair cat that is also a girl(Parent's). Gizmo is a dark gray domestic short-hair cat that is a boy(Tristan's). Emerald is a green Chinese Water Dragon(Brendan's). Spot is a tadpole(Tristan's). I do want my pets and would never give them up. Yes, I actually am allergic to cats even though I love them.If I could have another pet I would want it to be another lizard so Emerald wouldn't be lonely.
How do people, whether it is you or someone you know, treat their animals/pets?
I treat my pets by being nice to them and not harming them. Some people I know love and care for their pets as much as I do.
What is a wolf? Provide brief, but specific, information on what a wolf is, their species, etc. Provide an image.
A wolf is a canine like a dog and is similar in appearance and proportions to a German shepherd/sled dog but has a larger head, longer legs, bigger paws, narrower chest, and straighter tail.
What is a food chain? Explain and provide an image?
A food chain is the chain the food follows such as a small fish ate a tiny fish but then got eaten by a medium fish which got eaten by a big fish which got eaten by a large fish etc.
What do you think "survival of the fittest" means? How can you relate this to animals? How can you relate this to your own life?
I think that "survival of the fittest" means the the fittest people will survive longer and healthier than anyone else. It relates animals by telling about the way wild animals live and survive. It relates to my life by telling me that if I were an animal that is how I would have to live.
