Schoolwide Learning Expectations
St. John Eudes Students have the opportunity to become:
A. Active Christian in their Catholic faith
1. Explain Church teaching, Scripture, and Tradition, and Sacraments
This applies to me because I have gone through 3 sacraments.
2. Participate meaningfully in worship, prayer, and the Sacraments
This applies to me because I pray every night before I go to bed and go to church.
3. Follow the teachings of Christ and the Ten Commandments
This applies to me because I try to follow the Ten Commandments and Jesus every day of my life.
4. Express God's love through Christian service (social service and social action)
This applies to me because I try to volunteer and help others when I can.
5. Apply the Six Pillars of Character to their daily lives (Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness,
Caring and Citizenship)
This applies to me because I try to be a good person by caring about my family, my friends, and my pets.
6. Educate themselves and others about justice, equity, and peace
This applies to me because I try to let everyone play or do what they want so that we all get along.
7. Practice inclusiveness
This applies to me because I try to include everyone.
8. Celebrate cultural diversity
This applies to me because I don't exclude people because they're a different race or culture.
9. Engage in respectful dialogue with people who have different perspectives
This applies to me because I like talking to people and listening to what they say.
10. Respect God's creation
This applies to me because I love animals and care about the environment.
B. College and Career Ready in the 21st Century
1. Become self-directed learners who formulate meaningful questions and effectively seek out and use
human, print, and digital resources to address those questions
This applies to me because I ask people questions and look for answers in books and online.
2. Collaborate with others in a respectful and productive way to complete tasks
This applies to me because I can work in a group without being rude or disrespectful and get things done.
3. Construct viable arguments by using logical reasoning and citing precise, relevant evidence
This applies to me because I will use good, reasonable statements that can be proven to be true, in papers and while talking.
4. Process, analyze, interpret and evaluate quantitative and qualitative information while maintaining an open
mind
This applies to me because I will study and review what I read and hear before I judge them.
5. Demonstrate the ability to use multiple strategies to solve problems
This applies to me because I know different ways to do many things.
6. Read, see and listen carefully to improve general knowledge and discipline-specific expertise
This applies to me because I like to read to learn more about things and observe my surroundings.
7. Demonstrate command of written and spoken standard English and acquire and use a wide-ranging daily
and academic vocabulary
This applies to me because I try my best to write correctly and speak English properly every day.
8. Comprehend and critique complex literary and informational texts across a wide range of types and
disciplines
This applies to me because it is important to understand what I'm reading, be able to compare and contrast, and apply what I have learned from what I have read.
9. Use productivity tools to collaborate with others, enhance learning, and generate creative works
This applies to me because I use learning tools and technology to help make things easier, to create things more accurately, and to work better with others.
10. Practice ethical and responsible use of technology
This applies to be because I use my computer and other electronic devices every day, I am responsible for them, and make good choices while on the internet.
